Free Medical Camp Held in Guntur to Benefit Heart Patients
A free medical camp was successfully conducted at the Guntur JKC Art Gallery, organized by the Humanitarian Volunteer Organization to provide free medical tests and medicines to nearly 700 heart patients. The event was supported by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and witnessed participation from expert cardiac and CT surgeons from GGH.
Dr. Alla Gopalakrishna Gokhale’s Contribution to Heart Care
Renowned cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Alla Gopalakrishna Gokhale, played a key role in organizing this initiative. With an impressive track record of saving over 600 lives in the Guntur Government Competition Cardiology Department, Dr. Gokhale emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and regular heart check-ups.
He urged patients who have undergone heart surgery to consult their doctor at least once a year for timely monitoring and preventive care.
Government’s Commitment to Healthcare Development
Health Minister Satyakumar announced the establishment of Multi-Specialty Hospitals in all 175 Neo-Jaka circles across the state under the leadership of CM Chandrababu Naidu. This initiative aims to provide affordable and quality medical care to underprivileged communities.
During his visit to the Sattenapalli Area Hospital, the minister also inaugurated a 100-bed multi-specialty hospital in the Rajapalem zone, Sattenapalli, to expand advanced healthcare services.
Government Investment in Medical Education
The government is investing ₹1.72 crore per medical student completing an MBBS course in government colleges. Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav encouraged doctors to give back to society by serving in rural areas.
Heart and Liver Transplants in Andhra Pradesh
The recent success of liver transplant surgery in Visakhapatnam has paved the way for the first heart transplant operation at Guntur Medical College. Meanwhile, experts at Guntur General Hospital (GGH) have performed 108 heart surgeries in just eight months, highlighting the growth of cardiac care in Andhra Pradesh.
Super Specialty Medical Departments & Village Adoption Initiative
To strengthen the medical infrastructure, 16 medical colleges have been approved to establish Super Specialty Departments. Additionally, 100 villages have been adopted, ensuring improved medical services for rural communities.
