First Heart Transplant in GGH by Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale and Team

Dr. Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale and his team performed the First Free Heart Transplant at Guntur Government Hospital on Friday May 20, 2016 through Jeevandan. Since the patient I.Yedukondalu of Vijayawada who had been declared as a brain dead patient, the heart was rushed to GGH Guntur in 15 minutes where a team of doctors, Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale Cardiothoracic surgeon transplanted the heart to U. Yedukondalu of Guntur. The transplantation took six hours and patient was placed in observation for three days. Speaking after the transplant, Dr Gokhale recalled that he was an alumni of the Guntur Medical College and was happy to serve the hospital where he had studied. Yedukondalu’s mother, wife and children thank cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale who performed the heart transplant surgery at GGH on Friday.
