As the fight to combat Covid-19 Intensifies, the role of police personnel in enforcing lockdown restrictions, ensuring adoption of social distancing norms and providing succour to the people in an emergency during this pandemic has be inspirational.

Given police are always in the face of danger during this pandemic, safety gear is critical and obviously the first line of defence for our front-line warriors. However, the sheer suddenness of the pandemic and the lockdown restrictions that followed made 3-Ply masks procurement tougher. And during these testing times, Sahrudaya Health Medical and Educational Trust headed by leading Lung Transplantation Surgeon in Hyderabad, Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale came to the rescue by procuring and donating 50,000 3-Ply face masks to police personnel.

Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale, on this Tuesday, 14th April 2020, has handed over the donation to DGP of Telangana, Sri Mahender Reddy garu, for distribution among the police personnel.

“Be it with contact tracing the infected, ensuring law and order in high-risk zones like hospitals or providing assistance to people in containment zones, our police are constantly are in the face of danger and it is important they are equipped with best safety gear as possible. Sahrudaya Health Medical and Educational Trust salutes their efforts and is honoured to be of assistance”, said Heart and lung transplantation surgeon Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale during the press conference.
