Dr Gokhale attended GGH CTVS Medical Department successfully completed 60 heart bypass surgeries at Guntur.
On September 16, 2024, the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) department at Guntur Government General Hospital (GGGH) celebrated the successful completion of 60 heart bypass surgeries. Renowned heart transplant surgeon, Dr. Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale, attended the event and congratulated the medical team for their commendable efforts.
Dr. Gokhale emphasized the significance of performing heart surgeries in government hospitals, particularly at Guntur GGH, where he once studied. Thanks to the partnership between the Sahrudaya Trust and the government, over 600 bypass surgeries and three heart transplants have been successfully completed.
Under the guidance of Dr. Peram Kuppuswamy, the team at GGH successfully performed the 60 bypass surgeries. Dr. Gokhale also expressed his continued support to ensure heart transplant operations are conducted at GGH in the future. He praised the fact that, after the bifurcation of the state, more heart operations are being performed in government hospitals in Andhra Pradesh than in Telangana.
